Enterprise Console v. 4.5 reboot requirements

Issue
During the installation of Enterprise Console 4.5 you may be prompted to reboot. The requirement to reboot is dependent upon the specific pre-requisites demanded by the installation for your network.

The following installation pre-requisites may require a reboot:

MSI 4.5
MSI 4.5 is required because SQL2008 is shipped with SEC4.5
Reboot will always be required
The reboot cannot be suppressed.

MSI patch
This patch is required for certain operating systems.
If it is a pre-requisite then a reboot will be required.
The reboot cannot be suppressed.

SQL2008
May be installed depending on the what version of SQL is already present. If no SQL is present SQL2008 will be installed.
May require a reboot if in an upgrade scenario.
Won’t require a reboot if a clean install.
The reboot cannot be suppressed.

.Net 3.5 SP1
May require a reboot if a service that’s using .Net is running.
The reboot cannot be suppressed.
